Dry rot is a wood destroying organism. It is probably the most common problem found during a termite inspection. A microscopic fungus attached to lumber and fed with moisture will damage any wood member. The most common areas found with dryrott are the eave timbers ( facia, raftertails ) decks ,patio covers, bathrooms and anywhere water can be trapped.
